Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC), Chennai, India is one of the national laboratories under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), India. SERC has built-up excellent facilities and expertise for the analysis, design and testing of structures and structural components. Services of SERC are being extensively used by the Central and State Governments and public and private sector undertakings. Scientists of SERC serve on many national and international committees and the Centre is recognised at the national and international levels as a leading research institution in the field of structural engineering. SERC has recently been certified as ISO:9001 quality institution.

Name of Post : Scientist
Qaulification: Ph.D in Structural Engineering.
Desirable: Candidates having knowledge of advanced structural analysis and design; familiarity with computer programming; use of software(s) and experimental techniques for structural engineering applications will be preferred.
Pay Scale: Rs.15600-39100
Application Fee: Candidates should submit with each filled up application a Crossed Demand Draft for Rs.100/- drawn in favour of I.R.F, SERC payable at Chennai towards application fee. No fee for SC/ST candidates and regular employees of CSIR. Persons with disabilities are also exempted from payment of application fee subject to submission of prescribed medical certificate.
How to apply :
Applications should be forwarded to the Controller of Administration/ Administrative Officer, SERC, CSIR Campus, Tharamani P.O. Chennai -600113 so as to reach him not later than 30th July 2010. Advertisement Number, Name of the Post applied for and full address in Block Letters must be indicated at the top of the request which should be sent together with self-addressed and duly stamped envelope [Rs.10.00] of size 22cm X 10cm. Applications should be supported by (a) attested copies of the certificates/testimonials.

How to apply:
The candidate has to fill the application online and upon submission, applicants will be provided with an online Registration Number. After allotment of Registration Number, the candidate has to take a print out, duly sign and send along with copies of the certificates like: i) Qualification certificates ii) Mark List iii) Experience certificates iv) Caste certificate . Paste a recent passport size colour photograph in the space provided for at the right top portion on the first page of the application. The Advt.
